Syma S022 Big Army Chinook Remote Control Helicopter

The Syma S022 Big Army Chinook Remote Control Helicopter is one Syma RC Helicopter that your boys will surely enjoy. The obvious difference of this toy from the rest of the remote controlled helicopters that are out in the market is its size. It’s big.

If your kid loves playing with remote controlled helicopters then for sure you’ve had your fair share of those different types of RC helis in your home. Most of those out in the market though are medium sized or small and some are even so tiny it could fit in the palm of your hand. These types of RC helis promise easy flying and easy maneuvering due to its light weight. And you don’t have to worry about durability because most of these toys are built for heavy play and even with its fragile-looking exterior it can withstand rigorous play.

Syma Chinook Video Review

But these small to medium sized remote controlled helicopters just really looks like toys and doesn’t give much of a feeling of flying the real thing. It’s because when you’re already flying it, you can barely see its physical features and the realistic details that they have replicated from the real thing. At close range though, you may be able to see it but you really won’t be able to appreciate it anymore when it’s flying up in the air.

The Syma S022 Army Chinook Helicopter solves this problem for you. It’s really like the real thing. Its details provide a real-looking style similar to the real Chinook. And best of all it’s big enough to fly up in the air and it will give you a feel of flying a real helicopter. It’s not too big that flight will be impossible, its just big enough to give you the satisfaction of not just playing with a toy but of controlling a piece of equipment and have it fly.

No need for a dozen batteries.

Most remote controlled helicopters, or remote controlled toys for that matter, needs several batteries to make it work. A set of batteries is needed for the remote control, and another set is needed for the toy itself. And if you are using disposable ones, then you are going to be purchasing a lot of batteries for a single remote controlled toy. With the Syma S022 Army Chinook Helicopter, this problem is solved for you. Only the transmitter will need to be powered by batteries. The helicopter can just be charged through the wall outlet. This will surely save you more money. And not to mention it will be friendlier to the environment.

With the Syma S022 Army Chinook Helicopter, your kid will start to feel like he’s flying the real thing. And he’ll feel like one of the big boys with this big RC heli, especially after he’s playing with friends who have those tiny models.

What Customers Say

"I'm not an expert on these helicopters, BUT I have purchased at least five other remote choppers for my son. This is THE ONLY ONE that we have actually been able to fly. It is awesome once you get it trimmed out and flying straight. It has taken a beating, and it keeps on ticking. We are careful and don't want it to crash. It WORKS! After just a week I can now fly it continuously around the house without landing (one flight) until the battery discharges.

Two downside comments:

1. The instructions on charging are either wrong or our indicator lights are not functioning properly (likely). There are two LEDs on the plug-in charger and they both glow all the time - whether charged or not - whether plugged into the chopper or not. This has not affected flying or charging. Just a hassle not knowing if you are fully charged, yet.

2. I opened the Transmitter box and disconnected the spring on the throttle stick. Now the stick stays where you left it last (instead of springing back to low setting), and this is much easier for me (I mean my son ;-) I don't understand why it doesn't come this way to begin with. If you are up in the air, the last thing you want a chopper to do is lose power or go to low throttle for any reason! HELLO! The only drawback is that IF you attempt to turn on the chopper with the stick in any position other than off (wait for it, not what you are thinking)... then the throttle thinks and assumes you are at low setting from that position on. So, if you are at half throttle when you turn on the chopper, you only get half of the power (halfway to full instead of low all the way to full).

This is a WINNER. I have never written a review before, but HAD TO because this thing is awesome!!"

"I've been at it, on and off, for about 3 days now. I can now launch from the hand held position, (much preferred), can steady hover, turn left or right, back up, fly around the room without crashing, and hand land,(preferred). I absolutely love it. I'm having big fun, for a small amount of money. The Chinook S022 Helicopter controls and trim are easy to use, and responsive.

Waiting a few seconds before re-trimming, usually pays off in spades. In about a week, I probably could get a job in the Mall, demonstrating these helicopters. At 11 inches body length, and 18 inches overall length, (including the rotor blades), this helicopter is substantial, ruggedly built, and is impressive to the eye. I highly recommend this helicopter, especially for the novice, like myself."

Hello

Nice little Helicopter and plenty of power as well!!

My only problem is all of a sudden it will go to full power without me touching the control unit. Trim buttons don't seems to adjust anything. ?
