Air Hogs Pocket Copter

The Air Hogs Pocket Copter It’s a helicopter that flies indoors. It is meant for kids aged 10 and above but will enchant anyone who is a kid at heart. The Air Hogs Pocket Copter measures less than 4 inches, with the rotor that is, from nose to tail but can provide great excitement. It is not much larger than a matchbox but it flies with zest and thrills whoever uses it. But do not take the name at its face value – this little monster is not meant to be carried in your pocket – it has a special transporter case for this purpose.

It is different from other brands of Air Hogs, like the Air Hogs Havoc Heli, in that the charger is not built into the controller but is added in the carrying case. When you purchase this one in the market you will get an assembled aircraft, an unassembled case for the charger that you have to assemble yourself out of the top and the bottom of the heli case, a controller and a set of instructions. For operation, this helicopter requires 3 AAA batteries for the controller and 6 AA batteries for the charger.

You can start flying the Air Hogs Pocket Copterby adjusting the trim buttons on the controller. We would suggest that you read the instruction manual thoroughly before flying the copter, lest you damage it in your anxiety. The actual flight path of the copter is fairly stable. Sometimes it flies as helicopters are shown to do in video games – a bit jittery, moving slightly up and down as well as back and forth. This motion is somewhat similar to a lightweight object suspended from a thread or rope and placed in a mildly breezy ambience. However, considering its miniscule size and weight the copter is very stable and not very jittery. The weighty flybar that is connected to the upper rotor prevents the copter from getting out of shape. This sort of “radaring” effect tends to impart the copter a back and forth type of motion.

Probably the best feature of the Air Hogs Pocket Copter is its adjustable rear fin. This is the black section on the green part of the tail. The fin has a lightweight built into it that can be slid back and forth by very small lengths. Sometimes mini copters like these require a little weight to be put under their nose to make them lean forward and fly by themselves. The only genuine problem this baby seems to have is its tendency to keep turning in the direction that you have just turned it when you get want it to straighten after the turning. That apart, you are in for a thrilling odyssey with this mini copter.

The transporter case is of special importance as it protects this instrument from any kind of damage and lets you carry the copter and charger around in one hand only – greatly increasing its portability. The transporter case also acts as a charging station for your copter as well as its launching pad. With the launch of this copter, Air Hogs reaffirms its reputation of making inexpensive and yet spectacular copters that display remarkable stability for their size, are easy enough for kids to fly them and at the same time tough enough to withstand the rough use kids subject them to.

In case you are facing a dilemma as to what to gift your kids for this Christmas, or to gift even grown-ups who like gadgets, this one is the best option. The small and tiny helicopter has attracted many a suitor and is already one of the top toys for this Christmas and in time will surely be a massive hit.

Something To Play With During Lunch Break?

The Pocket Copter flies well indoors. Do not fly outdoors due to sunlight preventing the IR remote from functioning; copter will fly up & away until stopped by something. The charger indicator lights do not work per the instructions, but the copter does charge well.
